I find it to be a good exercise in practicing visual composition, but also good for location scouting and capturing visual texture that digital formats lack. Below, I've shot on various different kinds of films - most notably the color shifted film is Lomochrome Purple. No post-processing effects have been added, none of these photographs have been modified in any digital editing software. BPMC’s modified PAUP EYE cameras, which are modified HP point-and-shoot digital cameras that allow for glitching on the fly. While a couple compositions are composites of multiple photos to layer the glitching, by-and-large these photos are taken and posted as-is. I’m still learning, but this is a way of merging two of my favorite things - glitch art and photography. This meant constructing a Flexible Visual System, as has become the standard with most of my branding work. Specifically, I wanted the branding to embrace the 3D printing visual motifs they already had in their logo and planters, while avoiding being bland and flat - instead leaning into the fun and vibrant visuals that the plastic of 3D printing allows. Thus, food photography served as an inspiration for the project, which I sent to the business as art direction for their products and they embraced whole-heartedly. <img width="1946" height="1326" available on Steam and&nbsp;currently in public beta on Itch.io. Each level is generated from a tileset of different houses, with dynamic AI and immersive-sim mechanics that allow the players to determine their own paths through maps. Houses use a special shader that allows us to map a color palette onto them, which are originally black-and-white. This methodology is heavily, heavily inspired by my work with Risography to create vibrant environments for every new house. Keepsake County has found its way into Steam Stealth Fest 2023, SXSW Sydney 2023, Southern Fried Game Fest 2023, Roguelike Celebration 2023, and Dreamhack ATL 2023. It was awarded Best Audio, Best Production, Runner-Up Most Fun, and 3rd Place in Design at the SILV-E awards at Dreamhack 2023, voted on by the Georgia GDA and included Warren Spector among the jury.
